SAT Test Break Down

English:

Reading - 15 minutes to solely read a booklet. 45 minutes to answer quetions based on the text they have just read, making sure they refer to the booklet throughout to support their answers.


New for 2013....
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar Test (SPAG Test) -
45 minutes to answer questions about various grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.
A separate spelling test (20 spellings) which will be combined with the grammar paper to provide an overall grade.

Maths:

Numeracy Paper A -This is a non-calculator paper. The chilren are given 45 minutes to complete the answers, making sure they show any methods/calculations if the question asks.


Numeracy Paper B -This children are allowed to use a calculator for this paper. Again,  the chilren are given 45 minutes to complete the answers, making sure they show any methods/calculations if the question asks.


Mental Maths Paper:  - This is when a C.D is played, containing 20 mental maths questions. The first 5 questions are allocated 5 seconds each to answer, the next 10 questions are allocated 10 seconds per question to answer and the last 5 are allocated 15 seconds each to answer.
